Remembrance Day is a memorial day for the nation to remember and honour the members of armed forces who have died in the line of duty. Alandale Plant and Scaffolding Ltd employees wearing their poppies with pride in remembrance of our fallen hero’s.
Land Securities held their Community Employment Awards to celebrate the fifth year of the companies Employment Programme, which enables them to train and place diverse groups of people into employment across a variety of sectors. They have recently expanded the work to support ex-offenders and serving prisoners via employment training programmes in prison. Both Dave Coyle and Jermaine Anaman were 2 of 1000 to be nominated for the awards and both were successful in being shortlisted to the last 20 for this years Community Employment Awards on the 20th October. Sadly, Dave or Jermaine did not win the Award but had done amazingly well to get shortlisted to the last 20. Well done to the both of you.
Little Havens Hospice is a charity that is very close to our hearts. They have the privilege of caring for many children and their families at Little Havens Hospice and in the community. On the 6th October, Little Havens Hospice put on a charity event where companies and businesses are invited to take a table at their exclusive City Ball. APSL contributed to four tables in support of the event. An amazing £31,165 was raised at the event.
Alandale Plant & Scaffolding Ltd have sponsored this month, Willmott Dixon’s shirts for the annual trip to Geneva with the Cyclotour Du Leman that their Managing Directors took part in. This event was held to raise money for Zoe’s Place which is a children’s hospice in Middlesbrough. Alandale Plant & Scaffolding Ltd were one of five supply chain partners to sponsor their shirts for the annual Cyclotour and donated £2,000 in support of this event. This is an annual event in which Willmott Dixon's Managing Directors and Group Directors join Rick Willmott to cycle 180km around Lake Leman (Lake Geneva) in about 6 or 7 hours, to raise money for a very deserving cause. Willmott Dixon’s team raised an amazing £46,500 for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.
Norwood is a leading UK Charity supporting vulnerable children and their families, children with special educational needs and people with learning disabilities. Norwood is one of the UK’s oldest charities to enjoy the Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen.
Managing Director, Matthew Warner, participated in The C J O’Shea & Galliard Homes Norwood golf day on the 6th July 2017 and has done for the past 5 years. This year’s event raised a staggering £70,000 – their highest Golf Day fundraising total to date.
